Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 9 September 2026
These terms describe how Snehse actually works. They are written to be read, not to be skimmed past. They are not legal advice: have them reviewed by a qualified lawyer in your jurisdiction before you launch or rely on them.
1. Who can use Snehse
You must be 18 or older to create an account. By continuing you confirm that you are, and that the phone number you verify belongs to you.
We may suspend or close an account where we have reason to believe this is not the case.
2. What Snehse is
Snehse connects you with listeners — people who are available to talk. You can message them, call them, or make a video call, and you pay for the time you spend in conversation.
Listeners are independent individuals who choose their own availability and, within limits we set, their own rates. They are not our employees, and we do not supervise the content of any particular conversation in real time.
3. What Snehse is not
Snehse is not a medical, psychiatric, counselling, or emergency service.
Listeners are not doctors or therapists. Where a listener carries a "Certified Psychologist" badge, it means we have verified a qualification — it does not make the conversation clinical treatment, and it does not create a doctor–patient relationship.
Nothing said on Snehse, by a listener or by our AI companion, is a diagnosis, a prescription, or a substitute for professional care.
If you are in crisis or someone is in danger, contact your local emergency services immediately. Snehse cannot dispatch help.
4. Your account
You sign in with your phone number and a one-time code. Keep access to that number secure: anyone who can receive your codes can reach your account.
You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has access to it.
You may sign out individual devices, and you may delete your account at any time from Settings. Deleting your account anonymises your profile and ends your sessions. Records we are required to keep — transaction and payment history in particular — are retained as described in the Privacy Policy.
5. Coins, and how charging works
Coins are prepaid credit for use inside Snehse. They have no cash value, are not a deposit, are not transferable between accounts, and cannot be exchanged for money.
How you are charged:
- Every price you see is set by us or by the listener within limits we set. The app never calculates what you owe.
- Our servers decide the charge, from timestamps our servers record. Calls are billed per started minute at the rate shown before the call begins, unless a free period is in effect.
- The rate is fixed at the moment a conversation starts. A rate change during a conversation does not affect that conversation.
- Your balance is reduced as the conversation proceeds. When it runs out, the conversation ends.
- Every movement of coins is recorded in a ledger you can review in your wallet.
If a conversation is interrupted — by a dropped connection, an app crash, or a device going flat — you are charged only for the time that actually elapsed.
6. Buying coins, refunds and subscriptions
Coin purchases are processed by a third-party payment provider. We credit coins only after that provider confirms the payment.
Refunds are governed by the Refund Policy. In short: we do not refund coins that have been spent, and we do not refund for dissatisfaction with a conversation. We will correct genuine billing errors, and we refund coins where a payment succeeded but coins were not credited.
Subscriptions renew as described at the point of purchase and can be cancelled from the app. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not refund the current period.
7. Gifts
Gifts are a way to show appreciation. Sending one spends coins immediately, and the coins are not recoverable. A gift is not a payment for anything outside the conversation.
8. Recording
Snehse does not record calls by default.
Where call recording is switched on for the platform, both people are shown a clear notice for the entire duration of the call. We do not record silently. A recording is stored privately, is accessible only to authorised staff reviewing a safety concern, every access is logged, and it is deleted when its retention period ends.
If you do not want a call recorded, end the call.
9. How you must behave
While using Snehse, do not:
- harass, threaten, demean or abuse anyone;
- send or request sexual content, or solicit sexual services;
- share nudity or sexual imagery;
- ask for or offer money, or attempt to move payment outside Snehse;
- share or request personal contact details, or attempt to move the conversation to another platform;
- impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your age or identity;
- attempt to defraud another person or us, including through chargeback abuse;
- record, screenshot or redistribute another person's conversation, image or voice without their consent;
- use Snehse to sell, advertise or recruit;
- attempt to interfere with, probe or reverse-engineer the service.
The Community Guidelines expand on this and form part of these terms.
10. Safety tools
You can block anyone, which stops them messaging or calling you. You can report a person or a conversation, and you can raise an SOS alert, which notifies our team.
We take reports seriously and act on them, but we cannot guarantee any particular outcome or timescale, and reporting is not a substitute for contacting the authorities where a crime may have occurred.
11. Moderation, suspension and closure
We screen messages for prohibited content, using automated checks and human review. An automated flag is reviewed by a person before any account action is taken.
We may restrict, suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or the Community Guidelines. Where we do, unspent coins may be withheld pending review, and coins spent on breaching conduct are not refunded.
If you believe an action was taken in error, contact support and we will review it.
12. Your privacy
The Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it. Please read it — it forms part of these terms.
We do not sell your personal data.
13. Availability
We work to keep Snehse running, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Calls depend on your network and your device, and quality varies with both. Features may change, and we may withdraw features that do not work well.
14. Our responsibility, and its limits
We provide a platform for conversation. We are responsible for running that platform with reasonable care, for charging you correctly, and for handling your data as described in the Privacy Policy.
We are not responsible for what an individual listener says, for decisions you take as a result of a conversation, or for outcomes in your life or health. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you in connection with Snehse is limited to the coins in your wallet and any amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
15. Changes
We may update these terms. Where a change is material, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Snehse after that means you accept the updated terms. Each version is numbered and dated so you can see what changed.
16. Law, and how disputes are handled
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in India have jurisdiction over any dispute.
Please contact support first. Most problems are resolved faster that way than through a formal claim.
17. Contact
Questions about these terms, your account, or a charge: reach us through Help & Support in the app, or at the support address published on the Snehse website.
